Sylvain Chomet

BAFTA award-winning Sylvain Chomet is a quintessential Frenchman with a British sense of humour.

An iconic Director and Storyteller with an unrivalled reputation for highly creative animation work across film and commercials.
 
His work includes high-profile short form and commercial projects including guest directing The Simpsons’ famous opening title sequence and teaming up with renowned Belgian rapper and singer Stromae to direct the video for his hit single Carmen.
 
In his earlier career, Sylvain’s first film The Old Lady and the Pigeons, an animated short set in Paris, won a number of awards including a BAFTA, the Annecy Grand Prize and also gave him his first Oscar nomination. He then went on to direct the feature length film Triplets of Belleville which, again, received global recognition including another Academy nomination for Best Animated Feature. His last animation feature, The Illusionist based on an un-filmed script by Jaques Tati, won the New York Critics Prize, the French Academy Award (Cesar) and was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards.
